YachtPlus takes two yachts to the Caribbean

Ocean Emerald and Ocean Sapphire both made the Atlantic crossing this winter.

YachtPlus Concierge has completed the preparations for the 2010/2011 Caribbean Season and Owners are now planning trips during the winter.

The two yachts will be cruising between St Barts, St Martin and Gaudeloupe and one yacht will travel even further south to Mustique.

FT Article & CNBC Interview

YachtPlus has received some great press coverage in the last few months with an article on the cover of the Financial Times Home section and a live interview with CNBC.

The FT article featured YachtPlus in the weekend edition on 22 October with a front page spread of the House & Home section. The article explains the benefits of fractional ownership and focuses on the YachtPlus programme.

On 2 November, CNBC interviewed John Hare, Chairman of YachtPlus, as part of their ‘Alternative Investing’ program. John clearly explained why shared ownership is such a smart way to own a super yacht.

Monaco Yacht Show/RINA Green Award for YP

RINA has awarded the Ocean Emerald the new Green Plus certification at the 19th Monaco Yacht Show and the award was presented by Prince Albert of Monaco. This award attests to the commitment of constructors and yacht owners to produce pleasure craft which conserve the environment.

“The yacht owners want the best performances for their boats, in line with the latest innovations in materials and systems. They are ready to use all the latest technologies which will enable them to reach the highest levels of efficiency with a minimum impact on the environment,” Salerno, MD of RINA, said.

The Green Plus certification is awarded to the new boats which use planning solutions, systems and operational procedures enabling them to obtain the improvement of the yacht’s performance as well as conserving the environment, also exceeding the international requirements concerning eco-compatibility. The grant of the Green Plus certification is based on an indicator in the environmental performance of the yacht, which takes into account all the aspects tied to the impact on the environment, including carbon emissions.

New Team Member

We are pleased to introduce our newest person to join the YP team, Andrea Maguire. Some Owners may remember her from a few years back when she was involved in the construction project.

Antigua Boat Show

Ocean Emerald featured in the Antigua Boat Show this year from 6th-11th December with a prime position at the entrance to the show.

In all over 100 brokers plus some journalists came onboard. They all liked the design of the yacht, the 'cleaness' of the lines and the spaciousness of the living room area.

Turkey Coast in October

One of our Owners had an extremely enjoyable tour down the Turkish coast in late October visiting the beautiful coastline from Bodrum to Kekova stopping in lovely bays such as Marmaris and Gocek . The seas were calm and the weather perfect for relaxing outside on the decks, with the fantastic scenery and excellent crew service.

YachtPlus Hosts Top Australian Chefs

In September, Ocean Sapphire played host for a special event with two of Australia’s top celebrity chefs, Gary Mehigan and Adrian Richardson. Gary Mehigan is now a major personality in Australia for his lead role in Masterchef & Adrian Richardson is renowned for his part in Boys Weekend.

Gary & Adrian produced beautiful canapés and a delicious dinner for 20 people, plus Ben Edwards, from The Wine Guide, provided delightful Australian wine to accompany the meal.
