From the CEO

It was a lovely summer cruising the Med with the yachts with Ocean Emerald and Ocean Pearl both enjoying the beautiful Adriatic coastline around Croatia right around to Venice. We’ve included some maps later in this newsletter to show you the yachts routes over the summer months.

I'm proud to announce that, also this season, our yachts have not lost a single day of cruising/ charter for technical failure. This is a major accomplishment.

The Global Superyacht Forum was held in Amsterdam last month & hosted by Feadship with all the major shipyards and brokers present. It was agreed that Fractional Ownership is a solution for the super yacht industry survival in these economic times.

As you know, the yachts are remaining in the Med over the next winter where they will remain in Marmaris, Turkey for the planned maintenance and refit work after the season. Therefore next season will start at Easter taking advantage of the warm spring weather, the lovely Turkish coastline & the beautiful blue seas of the Greek Islands.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy holiday season and best wishes for a healthy and prosperous new year...

Niccolò Arnaldi

Season's Greetings...

Happy Holidays & best wishes for the New Year

may it be filled with happiness and prosperity!

New Tenders for all the Fleet

The yachts have now started their refitting and maintenance works based in Marmaris, Turkey where we can take advantage of high quality at very competitive rates and as such has resulted in a 30% saving compared to similar shipyards in Italy or Spain.

Also included in this winter schedule is the installation of the crane for the new larger tender. This crane was specially built to retract into the back steps of the stern, so as to maintain the clean rear view of the yachts and keep the stern steps clear of any obstructions. The crane will be used to lift the bigger tender on and off the swimming platform when at anchor.

GQ online video

YachtPlus has received a wide variety of press coverage over the summer months with an article in the Gibraltar TImes, a photo and video shoot on board Ocean Sapphire for a collaberation between Hochedel magazine and Reposo, plus a blog and video in GQ Online magazine.

The Gibraltar Times article featured YachtPlus in the summer edition with our photo on front page. The article explains the benefits of fractional ownership and includes the YachtPlus programme.

Foster & Partners held an exhibition in Hong Kong over August/September showcasing Fosters work over the years. Through a thematic display – based around the issues of infrastructure, sustainability, urban planning, history and culture – the exhibition sets the context of many of the office’s projects and included the model of the YachtPlus yacht...

We were contacted by Reposo, the makers of handcrafted high end humidors if they could do a photo shoot of their new design humidor - Reposo Nautic - as the design mirrored the contemporary style of the YachtPlus yachts. They also made a 'behind the scenes' video which you can watch here... Below is the final photo from the shoot plus find out more about the Nautic humidor here...

Turkish Summer

Since the yachts are already in the Mediterranean for the start of the 2012 summer season and they will be berthed in the Marmaris Marina, Turkey, we have scheduled the summer season to start as early as possible to take advantage of this location with its warmer weather at this time of year. Hence the new season will start in the Turkish waters at Easter (April 6) as this is when the hospitality sector opens for the summer cruising season.

Yacht Usage in the Mediterranean

We had a good summer with Owners enjoying their yachts plus unused periods being chartered out. In general the charter rates received were of 130,000 EUR for peak season and 110,000 EUR for non-peak season.

Cruising Over the Summer

The yachts were kept busy all summer with both yachts spending time around Sicily before heading across to cruise along the unspoilt Adriatic coastline, around the Croatian islands before sailing into the spectacular port of Venice.

The maps to the left are of the routes both Ocean Emerald and Ocean Pearl followed over the past summer.

Owners have been overwhelmingly pleased with their experience of their yachts this summer. Some extracts from letters are included here:

Captain James was very good, you never would have guessed he was so new. Lastly the Chef was excellent. Altogether Yachtplus reached a new level of service. Well done. ” (Owner)

“Best crew so far, across the board. Captain very relaxed and friendly, nothing was too much for him and The chef was good. All in all a very good trip.” (Owner)

“The boat is excellent and crew was very friendly.
Thanks .” (Charter)

“Just returned from my trip on the yacht and wanted to thank you so very much. The boat was incredibly chic and we were lucky with the weather, but the level of service from the crew really made it most memorable. This could easily become addictive!” (Charter)
